Gustau Alegret
Gustau Alegret is an internationally acclaimed journalist, honored with multiple Capital Emmy Awards and a Napolitan Award for Excellence in Political Journalism, among other accolades. Recognized as a “media leader” by the World Economic Forum, he is based in Washington D.C.
With over 25 years of professional experience, Gustau Alegret has worked across various media outlets in both Spain and the United States. Until recently, he served as the director and host of Club de Prensa and Cuestión de Poder, two daily interview programs broadcast on NTN24. Today, he works as an independent journalist and political analyst, focusing on U.S., Latin America, and Europe.
He has +25 years of experience working in various media outlets in Spain and in the U.S., specializing in politics. In Washington, he follows the day-to-day news of the White House, U.S. Congress, State Department, think-tanks, and Latin American politics, a region he frequently visits.
He was the U.S. Correspondent for RAC1 from 2007 to 2017. Previously, he worked as a journalist for Radio Intereconomía, Ona Catalana Radio, Europa Press Agency, COM Ràdio, Plataforma Digital (Canal +), and Catalunya Ràdio, among others.
He has served as director of communications at the Ministry of Trade, Tourism, and Consumer Affairs (Catalan Government); and worked as a strategic communication consultant at the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and at the corporate communication company Intermedia GdC.
His academic experience includes visiting professor in Political Communication, Management Crisis, and Media Training.
He is member of the White House Correspondents’ Association, WHCA (associate); Foreign Press Correspondents Association, FPCA; National Association of Hispanic Journalism, NAHJ; and Col·legi de Periodistes de Catalunya (Catalan Journalist Association).
Gustau graduated in Journalism (1997) from Pompeu Fabra University; completed the Executive Program in Strategic Communication Management from ESADE Business School (2006); and has the Executive Certificate Program in Business Administration and Professional English from Georgetown University (2008).
